The king nodded, watching as the coyfox looked embarrassed. "Yes, if you believe you can be of more service to me in that way, you will. I also travel some, so when I leave the castle, you will go with me." he said, "I must ask you not to tell Siren about your employment under me though. She will know eventually, but now is not the time."

"Understood." He nodded, his tail wagging more now. "I suppose prince Jacob will probably be aware?"He queried, hoping the prince wouldn't be one to tell. He also hoped the king wouldn't too put off with his lack of appetite for meat from other furry animals, his 'cousins', so to speak.

The king watched Max as he asked about Jacob. "He doesn't have to know about your employment, however, he will wonder why you are here if Siren is not, so, to make it less of a worry for him, perhaps befriend him. I will be telling my older son of your employment, however, my blood son." the king replied. "So, will you be joining us for dinner then, Max?" the king asked, changing his tone as he heard Siren and Jacob approach. Siren was smiling happily as she entered, and the king guessed that Jacob must have showed her the beautiful tree in bloom. "Welcome back." the king spoke to them.

"I'd be happy to my... leige?" He stumbled slightly, unsure how exactly to greet the Kitsune king. He blushed slightly, feeling like an untutored pup, which technically he was, just not a pup. His tail wagged, fur having basically dried out now.

Siren smiled, stopping next to Max. "You're staying for dinner? That's great!" she said, clearly excited that he had hit it off so well with the king. Jacob didn't look so sure, but his smile was friendly as he looked at Max. "There is still a while before dinner will be ready, why don't you show him around, you two?" the King asked, raising himself from his seat. "We'd be happy to, Father." Jacob answered, and looked at Max. "Let's give you the grand tour." he said, jokingly. Siren was pleased to see that Jacob was acting more civilized towards Max, although they were still some way from being best friends. Siren nodded and lead the way out of the room.

Max followed alongside Jacob. He was nervous around the adopted son, but that may simply be the way he had first reacted to Max. The 'grand tour' would be good, since he needed to get to know the place. Hopefully this would lead to him befriending Jacob. It would be nice, since he never really had any friends, bounty hunter and all.
Nonetheless, his tail wagged slightly as he walked, ears perked.

"The castle is kinda big, so we won't be able to see all of it now, but I'm sure you'll be back, eh?" Jacob smiled at Max. "anyway, we'll start in the west wing, since it's the largest, and then you won't have much else to see after that." Jacob started off down the hallway and Siren fell into step next to Max. It couldn't possibly get awkward if she kept her distance from Jake, as long as he didn't make any assumptions about her new friendship with Max.

In turn, he was nervous not to act too close to Siren. He followed Jacob with Siren, curious about theplace.Worried more when Jacob would realise he isn't exactly leaving.

Jacob lead Siren and Max through the castle, occasionally giving an explanation or pointing out something interesting, until the smells of a freshly cooked meal of vegetables and roast turkey began wafting down the hallways. "Smells like it's dinner time, we should head to the dining hall." he said. They had almost finished getting through the west wing, and Siren was beginning to feel how hungry she was. She thought Max must also be hungry, since they hadn't eaten since she'd caught the fish. So she let Jacob lead them to the dining hall, and sat down between Jacob and Max at the table, letting Max sit closest to the King on their side of the table. Across from them, Jake's older brother sat, along with his mother, the queen.

Siren was right, the young coyfox was hungry. However, he certainly felt nervous at the dinner table. There was the king, the queen, the prince by blood, the prince by adoption, and Siren. he doubted Siren was no ordinary newcomer. True, he was now in the king's service, but still...
He just felt out of place in a way. Hopefully that would pass in time.

As they sat down, servers walked around the table, setting down plates and filling glasses. The smell was amazing, and as soon as the king had started eating, Siren dug in as well. "So, Siren, how is Saraine doing?" the king asked, smiling at her between mouthfuls. "He's doing quite well. He sends his regards and wishes he could have come himself." She replied. "I know of the difficulties of leading a kingdom. I am sure he is quite busy with the Cats." the king replied. "Indeed." Siren said as she scooped some more vegetables onto her fork.

The coyfox was generally a simple eater. The elaborateness of the meal was rather daunting as he ate in small amounts, listening to the conversation. Evidently Siren no ordinary Cat.
She's on terms with the king of the Cat kingdom. I really feel out of place here to everyone except the king. And maybe his blood son and wife. He continued eating, trying to be as tidy as the nobility.
He was a tracker, a trapper, a bounty hunter. He had faced other Foxes, Cats, even humans. He had hunted game, but only to release them after long. He had dealt with ordinary fighters and mages. But nothing had prepared him for this.
Dining with Royalty. A whole new league of a challenge.

As Siren finished the food on her plate, the King's eyes wandered to a window across from him. It was quite dark outside by then, having been nearly sunset when they arrived. "Now, I insist that neither of you leave tonight. It's far too dark for you to be traveling anywhere, especially alone. Jacob, would you kindly show our guests to rooms. Siren may have her usual, and Max can have the one next to hers. It doesn't get used often, but I have a feeling that will change." The Kitsune king said. Jake looked at his father curiously but shrugged, "Of course I will, father." "I know the way.. Surely you don't have to do that?" Siren argued, starting to feel uncomfortable with the idea of Jacob showing her to her room. "It would be rude of us as your hosts not to show you to your room, Siren." Jake said. "I will not take no for an answer, Siren." the Kitsune king said, smiling at her. Sighing, she knew that she wouldn't have any choice. "Thank you, your highness." she said, instead. Siren turned to look at Max to see how he was faring with his food.

The coyfox had finished his meal, trying to be clean. He was full and had a real bed to go to. His ears had pricked at the conversation and he barely resisted a smirk at the cat who had brought him here. He would happily have gone to bed, but he didn't want to in case the king needed to talk to him. He remained where he was, ears still ricked as he looked nowhere in particular.

Max had finished, so Siren stood up, Jake following suit and they started towards the door. "He'll just be a moment, you two. Wait outside for him." The Kitsune king said. Siren smiled and left the room, leaning against the wall on the outside of the door, Jacob following her and standing across from her. "Do you think you can find your way to the room you met me in tomorrow morning?" The Kitsune king asked. His wife and son looked at him curiously.
