"I see.. that was very kind of him..." Kanon said wuth a smile. He knew the nam from records and things he had read. He listened to her as she continued. Her mother was human huh? That was something he had never heard from a person of the cat kingdom."I've never heard of a peron from the cat kingdom wit ha human mother.." He siad as he looked at her."No offence or anything..." He added before she could reply. He never liked to sound rude...

Siren smiled as he said that he'd meant no offense to never having heard of human parented cats. "It isn't something that many would talk about. Hybrids, like me, are not looked upon kindly by the people in Silver Viper, nor in the Cat Kingdom. It is often necessary to disguise myself, when I travel in the human kingdom, because no one knows of me there. In the Cat Kingdom it is general knowledge that I am living at the castle, and though they don't like it, it usually deters those who mean harm." she replied. She wouldn't have taken offense to his comment, since that was something she was used to.

"I see.. that's sounds horrible." Kanon said sincerly as he looked up at her."I hate people who judge on apperence or situations, most of the time it isn't your fault." He siad as he ran a finger across the shelf of books as he pushed them firmly against the shelf. Now you could see the difference of the books sizes....

Siren nodded in agreement. "Yes. Often the humans of Silver Viper see my ears or tail and decide that I should be killed. It is why I often wear a hooded cloak. They seem less inclined to do me harm when they can't tell what I am... It is usually only hunters that pay me any heed, though, others just ignore me or run away." she continued the explanation. "Here in galfinio it is easier to walk around. The people here are kind and accepting." she added, smiling.

"I see..I am happy to say I am not a momenber of the Silver Viper Kingdom.." Kanon said with a smile. He liked his Kingdom it was a nice place there most of the time. He glanced over as he heard footsteps coming toward him. It was one of the libarians, she walked toward him as she said "ncie job I'll take that..." She siad as she took the cart. Kanon nodded as he thanked her before looking back to Siren...

Siren nodded as he said that he was not a member of the Silver Viper Kingdom. She did not know where he was from, but he seemed very pleased to live where he did. A librarian walked up and took the cart, pausing only to hear Kanon's thanks. Siren listened to him speak, and thought about how polite he was. He turned back to her and looked at her expectantly. "This arrangement you have with the librarians here is quite nice. It looks like very rewarding work." she commented politely.

"Well I'm mostly friends with the librarians here... they help me when I come to work in the back room." Kanon said to her with a smile. The back room was an off limits room where only the librarians and certain people could go, such as Kanon a scroll keeper. It was an advantage to have a good relationship with them they had one o the two keys need to get into the room. Kanon had one copy of the other."It comes in handy to befriend them, especially in my line of work..."

Siren listened as he explained his relationship with the librarians. "I guess it does help to know the right people." she said cheerfully. Kinda like my situation with the king. she thought. It was the only example she could think of from her own life. Living with Saraine helped her in so many ways. She could get things that normally she would have been forbidden, and could go places that she wouldn't normally be accepted. Thinking about it made her feel very lucky.

"Yes... quite much, everything is easier when you're on the good side of important people.." Kanon said with a smile. She had connections with the king as she had told him. He assumed how she had replied with a feeling of understanding. He glanced as another random person walked by, he couldn't help it he had always been cautious...

Siren saw him smile at her agreement and continued it. She saw that he was cautious of the people around him, but she couldn't really blame him. She knew what it was like to have to be cautious. "What were your parents like? I mean, if you don't mind sharing what you remember of them? I don't want to be offensive, so, please tell me if you do not wish to say anything." she said.

"I would tell you something just there isn't really anything specific I remember about them..They were always busy doing their jobs..." Kanon said as he thought for a moment. Until the day they died he was rarely with them. "I knew my Grandfather the closest though...out of all my family he was the one who knew me the most.." Kanon added...

Siren listened as Kanon explained that he didn't remember very much about them, that they had always been very busy and that he had been closest to his grandfather. She thought how like their situations were, neither knowing much about their parents, though for very different reasons. She wished she had names, then at least she could make a start, but Saraine refused to be of any help to her in that way. She wished he wasn't so adamante about her 'leaving well enough alone', as he liked to say - even in the cat language it was easy to see that he was insecure about something. "What was your grandfather like?" she asked quietly, still reviving herself from her thoughts.

"He could be a bit rude but he was nice when it didn't come to magic or training..." Kanon replied to her. He felt a bit awkward talking about him, the scars of his death were still fresh in his mind, even though it had been a few years. It still didn't feel right to walk by the room that was once his grandfathers...

Siren could see that he was hesitant to talk about his grandfather, and she thought it might be because he was still upset about his death. She wondered if it would be best to apologize or just change the subject entirely. "You said that your family is well known in your kingdom. They must have been quite significant?" she asked, thinking too about the cross that he wore. A family of great power would possess such an heirloom, though she wasn't certain that that was the case for Kanon.

"Oh yes we are a family of magic user and scroll keepers... the jobs and respects of both of these are passed on through the generations..." Kanon said to her. Well he had finally told her what his job was. He hadn't realized he had avoided it for so long, he usually told people this. She might have figured it out, he had dropped a few hints here and there as they spoke...
