Siren was confused. She looked at Kanon as he seemed totally unaware of the magic that burned inside her. If he really was the one in the room that had the magic, shouldn't he be able to feel hers as well? She had never asked a magic user if they could feel her field but even Pyros seemed aware of it, as if he could see it in her eyes. He was a little more perceptive than most humans, but he didn't possess magic of any kind. He asked if she really had magic within her and she gaped at him, completely aghast at the thought that he didn't really know. "You mean you can't feel it?" she asked, still certain that there was no evidence against his being the magic user. He even seemed to know alot about magic, didn't that support her theory?

Kanon stood up as he shook his head. "Nope sorry to say but I've never been able to.." Kanon said as he looked at her with a smile on his face. He thought it was funny actually, he didn't know why he couldn't, but he couldn't. Kanon had finished putting the books away as he clasped his hands together again putting them behind his back. He smile faded to a happy expression...

Siren stared at him, then looked away, feeling rude. "Not that you're missing anything... Its just... convenient.. to know when others are around." she said, turning her eyes back to him. She saw the expression on his face and was confused by it. He seemed completely at ease with the fact that he never knew when he was surrounded by magic. She couldn't imagine not knowing, she was certain she would be crippled by the absence of the fields around her. "There are other ways to tell, though..." she said. She thought about Pyros, and the strange way he studied her eyes to determine things about her. It almost felt intrusive, but she didn't really mind it when he was the one looking at her. He was the only human that actively expressed his dislike of the treatment that the hybrids endured. She supposed she should be happy about that, but he often got upset with ways she acted instinctively around him. If she sat on the ground, he would look at her, with a mingled expression of anger and pain, and then tell her not to do it anymore. She had seen other non-magical beings identify magical ones as well. They seemed to train their eyes to search out the signs of magic. She wondered if Kanon could ever learn this ability, or if he already had. She still didn't understand how he could look so peaceful when he couldn't identify a hostile magical being.

"The fact that I've never been able to has never come to my disadvantage." Kanon said as he noticed she was a bit confused about how he could be smiling. It used to bother him that he couldn't see them but he doesn't care anymore. "I could see them if I want, the only thing that prevents me is this..." He said as he gestured to the cross around his neck."It's a magical field within it's self, it contain the remaining magic of my grandfather and it had mixed with my own field so basically i have two.." Kanon said as he smiled again. His grandfather was a strong magic user until the day he gave his magic to Kanon. Kanon was a weak magician who couldn't keep up to the reputation of his family. So his grandfather wanted to help him keep up so he wouldn't could be a upholder of the Daniels name....

Siren watched as he explained what stopped him from feeling the fields of those around him. He didn't look like he understood why it was that way, but at least he knew the reason. she looked at the cross he had pointed at and thought,So thats why it was harder for me to identify where the field was coming from. as he told her that he had two fields. "The two fields work to cancel each other out. It made it difficult for me to be certain it was you who had magic." she said quietly.

"Ah I see.. so you were looking to see who's field it was.." Kanon said with a smile. "I expected that from the beginning." Kanon said as he looked to the empty cart. He need to take it back to behind the counter. He would in a moment, there was no rush. He stood as he didn't have his hands behind him anymore. He never put them behind him after gesturing to his cross. They were at his sides...

"it was insentive, yes." she said, as he deduced that she had been searching for his field. "It distracted me, your field, but I helped you even before i knew it was you. Because, for once, i couldn't tell where it was coming from. You must get this alot, if you knew that quickly, but do you know why? Certainly you must be able to guess now, that its because its so hard to identify you as the magic user, that we feel compelled to search you out?" she asked, hoping that it had not hurt his feelings that she'd only approached him because of his magic. "I did want to know, but I also wanted to help you put that book on that shelf." she summarized quietly, looking at the way he was standing, different now than it had been before.

"I understand...it has happened a few times before." He said happily with a smile. It really didn't bother him that much. "It is usually people who don't live in my kingdom, a good majority of the people there know my family in some way." Kanon said as his smile faded to a contant look. "So i see...well I thank you for your assistance.." He said politly with a smirk, he was normally pretty polite to everyone, even those he didn't like...

Siren listened curiously as Kanon explained that it had happened before and about the people in his own kingdom. "It was my pleasure." she replied as he thanked her again. He was very polite, and it made him even more amiable. "I had only been looking at the vivid pictures that the Silver Viper historians painted of my people. I was trying to see if I could find information on my parents... and maybe others like me." she said.

"Well thank you non the less." He said with a smirk. He listened to her speak as a bit of a curious expression came upon his face. "What do you mean by people like you..?" He asked curiously."Aren't there others like you in you kingdom?" He added. He hadn't gone to other kingdom beside his own. He didn't exactly know what she was talking about exactly so he went for the most basic question he could ask. That way she might fill in the blanks for him. This was one thing he always did, no matter how nice he was he hated being wrong or not knowing something. It bothered him, being wrong bother him more though becuase not everyone knows everything...

Siren saw him look at her curiously and he asked her what she meant by people like her. "I don't know. There are obviously other hybrids, but I mean the magic part. From what I know, neither of my parents had any magical abilities, so where did my magic come from? I was under the impression that it was hereditary?" she answered.

" I see... You have really striked my interest.." He said witha smirk. He loved to look up things and research stuff. This was one reason he made such a great scroll keeper. He put his hands behind his back once more as he looked at her. He couldn't help it he did it so often...

she hummed in amusement, a smile on her face. "Its hard not to want to know." she said. She had come without high expectations, though she wanted to know if there had ever been any other cases like hers. Did someone else appear in their history who had been so enigmatically powerful without reason? Maybe the histories could tell her. Her mother had been human though, so that would make it harder for her to find information. She didn't know whether her mother had been born in the Cat Kingdom or if she was from someplace else. "I really wish I knew more about my parents." she murmered to herself, lost in thought. She blinked at Kanon.

"I understand how you feel..." Kanon said as he spoke to her."I lost my parents when I was 11.." He said as he had an unbothered expression. He was over now kind of, no one can be completly over it."I live by myself now, my grandfather passed a few years back... I have an older brother but haven't seen him for years.." Kanon added. He had a good life as it was right now, even thought it would be better with his family. He was in good status right nw as he was being given a place to stay by the kingdom since he was young, he also was a good scroll keeper which was another reason they kept him around...

Siren looked at him, interested in what he was saying about his family. "I've never known my parents, but I feel quite lucky, because the king took me to live with him in our kingdom's castle." she said, "King Saraine is very kind to me, and I look up to him as if he were really my father. They tell me that my father was a great tiger like the king, but thats about all I know about him." she added. "I know even less about my mother, who had been human." They were sympathizing with each other now, sharing their similar stories with each other.
