"I don't know..I don't read for interest.." Kanon said as he looked down t the floor for a moment before looking back up to her."I read to read...I really enjoy it all.." Kanon said with a smile. He new that sounded a bit nerdy but Kanon was Kanon.... no other way to put it..

Siren was intruiged by his answer. He said that he read to read. "Thats very unique." she said, not knowing what else to say that wouldn't sound offensive. "I've never met anyone who reads books just to read them. Most people find something that interests them and read books that pertain to it, but this new perspective is quite interesting." she added. She was very interested in Kanon's ideas. He seemed to look at things in a way she'd never seen before.

"That's fine.. I heard that before a lot of people say that's weird." Kanon said as he was looking at the shelf."I have a hard time doing things without keeping my eyes busy.." Kano nsiad as he glanced to her wondering if she understood that...

Siren watched him curiously as he explained that he'd been told things like what she'd said before, and then justified his actions. "I don't think it's wierd, just different. Its always interesting finding different personalities and beliefs. It just proves how diverse we are." she smiled at him. "And I do understand what you mean by that. Sometimes its just easier to do something when you can entertain yourself, or distract yourself." she added. She hoped she was right on guessing that that was what he meant.

Kanon smiled as he closed his eye's slightly. He liked her, she was one of the first people who really understood him. His grandfather understood him as well but he is gone now. He looked over to her."Thank you for understanding... it feels good to know someone understands you once in a while.." He siad as a smile crept on his face."Toy are right as well.."

Siren smiled, showing Kanon her white teeth. He seemed to be really happy that she understood what he was talking about. "I know what thats like. Its so hard to find others with magic in my kingdom." she said.

"I know what you mean.. except in my example it goes for scroll keepers.." Kanon said to her as he closed his eyes again. "There are few scroll keepers around now a days and most are elders." Kanon added as he looked to her again...

Siren nodded, watching as his eyes closed and then opened. "I guess spending time with elders isn't always the most amusing." she laughed. Cats didn't live as long as humans, but that meant they matured quicker, and there were plenty of old cats in her kingdom.

"Not usually.. they complain a lot.. I always seem to do something wrong.." Kanon said as he looked at her. He hated that, they were never satified in the least. Kanon was probably such a serious child becuase of these reasons. Fo a 16 year old he was pretty mature..

She laughed lightly, "I know! And they always want something done for them. Get me this, take the ticks out of my fur, scratch the itch behind my ear. I know its respectful to do what they want, but its still surprising how many demands they can make in a day." she cringed a little for show, and smiled at Kanon. It was so much fun talking to him like this.

"Mine never ask me for personal favors.. they just give me assignments and send me on my way.." Kanon said as he looked at her. He had smirked a bit when she spoke, but when he had started he lost his smile. He didn't have a sad expression though it was a calm one none the less.

Siren couldn't help but smile at his expression. "That might be better than cat elders. Maybe more bearable than elder duty. I haven't had to do things like that in a long time, not since before I moved into the castle. King Saraine may be close to being an elder, but I enjoy doing things for him." she said, tilting her head slightly.

"I see... well I don't understand I have only experienced one type of elder and can not give an opinion.." Kanon said as he smirked slightly. He wasn't one to judge until he had experience in the subjuect, it was common curtesy.

Siren shrugged her shoulders slightly. "Well, I suppose theres no problem with that." she replied in a thoughtful voice. "I'm not sure if meeting a cat elder would help you, anyway. Most do not speak the human language." she added brightly. It was rare for her people to make the effort to learn human if they did not have to come in contact with them. Only service industry cats usually made the choice to learn it.

"I have heard that they hadn't but I wasn't sure if it was true or not." Kanon said with a smirk. He loved when he learned something new."So how come you have learned it?" Kanon asked curiously...
