News has just reached Siren that her father has died. Unaware that she had been so close to him for years, living with him in ignorance, she is devastated to find out that he is dead. What's more, her husband knew both that king Saraine was her father, and that he was dying and did not tell her. She feels betrayed, but she must put those feelings aside as she prepares herself to take the throne in his stead.
Not only is Siren a hybrid, but her husband is human. Few pure blood Cat Kingdom citizens agree that she should be taking the throne. Before long the peace is broken and mobs of citizens storm the castle asking for her to step down from the throne and name a true heir. She has little choice between fleeing and murder, and so begins to look to her friends in the other kingdoms for refuge. She doesn't know how long it will take before pure blood Wolves also join the side against her, but she is certain that they will.
